JOB SUMMARY Seeking a skilled and certified CT Technologist to join our Operating Room (OR) team. The CT Technologist will operate CT scanners to acquire diagnostic images of patients as directed by physicians. This role plays a crucial part in surgical procedures by providing intraoperative imaging support.
Key Responsibilities • Perform CT scans in the Operating Room environment, ensuring optimal image quality. • Prepare patients for CT examinations, including patient screening, positioning, and contrast administration as per protocol. • Operate and maintain CT scanning equipment, troubleshooting minor issues as they arise. • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency. • Maintain sterile technique and adhere to all infection control policies and procedures within the OR setting. • Ensure accurate patient identification, proper documentation of procedures, and correct billing information. • Participate in quality control and assurance activities for CT imaging.
Schedule / Shift • Varied shifts to cover operational needs.
Required Qualifications • High school diploma or GED. • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. • Current certification in Computed Tomography (CT) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, if applicable.
Certifications • ARRT (CT) • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Experience • Previous experience as a CT Technologist required. • Experience performing CT scans within an Operating Room setting is highly preferred.
Skills • Proficiency in operating various CT scanning equipment. • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. • Excellent patient care and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. • Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and practices. • Ability to maintain sterile technique.
EMR / Systems • Familiarity with PACS and RIS systems.
