Job Summary
The Hemodialysis Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients across all age groups, addressing diverse needs including sensory impairments, language barriers, substance abuse, and potential abuse situations. This role incorporates patient rights, organizational mission, vision, and values into nursing practice, ensuring safe and effective dialysis treatment. The nurse demonstrates strong assessment, clinical, organizational, and charge capabilities while maintaining patient safety and delivering compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized dialysis care for patients from infants to elderly
- Assess patient needs including impairments, language barriers, and abuse risk
- Incorporate patient rights and organizational values into nursing practice
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in assessment, treatment protocols, and charge responsibilities
- Perform patient transfers including lifting and moving patients safely
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written English
- Complete mathematical computations required for dialysis treatment protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hemodialysis RN experience
- Acute hospital experience
- Proficiency in medication administration
- Proficiency in telemetry
- Experience with the Tablo Hemodialysis System
Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (state of practice)
