Job Description:

  • Job Summary
    • Perform overnight sleep studies and collect diagnostic data using polysomnography and other sleep-related tests
    • Monitor patient well-being and ensure proper functioning of equipment during sleep studies
    • Analyze results and prepare comprehensive reports for physician review

    Key Responsibilities
    • Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures and setting up monitoring equipment
    • Monitor and record sleep patterns and physiological responses throughout the night
    • Identify and respond to equipment malfunctions or patient distress
    • Document observed events, including respiratory events, cardiac rhythms, and limb movements
    • Assist with data scoring and analysis following clinical protocols
    • Maintain accurate records and ensure data security and confidentiality
    • Clean and maintain equipment and sleep lab environment
    • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to optimize patient care

    Required Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of a recognized sleep technology training program or relevant clinical experience
    • Knowledge of polysomnographic technology and sleep disorders
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during overnight shifts
    • Basic computer and documentation skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and patient care skills

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
    • Prior experience in a sleep lab or similar clinical environment

    Certifications
    • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent preferred
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
