  • Position Overview  
    The Cardiac Cath Radiographer provides specialized imaging support in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, ensuring high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging for patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. This role requires expertise in radiographic techniques, patient care, and collaboration with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform radiographic imaging during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
    2. Operate and maintain imaging equipment in compliance with safety and quality standards.
    3. Position patients accurately and monitor patient status throughout procedures.
    4. Collaborate with cardiologists and Cath Lab staff to ensure optimal imaging support.
    5. Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate dose records.
    6. Assist in maintaining sterile technique and procedural workflow.
    7. Document imaging procedures and maintain patient records in accordance with hospital policies.
    8. Participate in quality assurance, equipment checks, and preventive maintenance activities.
    9. Support emergency procedures and respond promptly to urgent patient needs.

    Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Radiography or Medical Imaging Technology.
    2. Current registration/licensure as a Radiographer (ARRT or equivalent, depending on region).
    3. Prior experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or interventional radiology setting preferred.
    4. Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques.
    5. Proficiency in operating fluoroscopy and digital imaging systems.
    6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    7. Commitment to patient safety and adherence to radiation protection standards.
    8. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.

    Work Environment
    1. Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory within a hospital or specialized cardiovascular center.
    2. Exposure to radiation, sterile environments, and high-acuity patient care settings.
    3. Requires use of PPE and adherence to infection control protocols.
    4. Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with direct involvement in life-saving procedures.
