Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ICU RN is responsible for providing high-quality, critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions. This role involves continuous monitoring, rapid response to changes in patient condition, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and specialized nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, condition changes, and responses to treatment.
- Administer medications, treatments, and advanced life support interventions as ordered.
- Operate and manage life-sustaining equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitors.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-ICU recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in electronic health records.
- Adhere to infection control standards, safety guidelines, and hospital protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a critical care or ICU setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Proficient in using ICU monitoring equipment and electronic medical records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience with advanced cardiac life support and trauma care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification (preferred).
