JOB SUMMARY Provide direct nursing care to patients within the medical and surgical units. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities - Assess patient health status, including physical, psychological, and social needs. - Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans. - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. - Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatments. - Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and self-care. - Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records. - Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. - Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions. - Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient environment. - Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Unit / Specialty Medical / Surgical
Required Qualifications - Valid RN license in the state of practice. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (often required).
Experience - Prior experience as a Registered Nurse in a medical/surgical setting.
Skills - Proficient in patient assessment and care planning. - Strong knowledge of medical and surgical conditions and treatments. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. - Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
Schedule / Shift - Requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. - Rotating shifts may be required.
Floating / On-Call - Willingness to float to other related units as needed. - On-call responsibilities may be assigned.
