  • JOB SUMMARY
    Provides technical and direct patient care support within the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) environment. Assists the surgical team during cardiovascular and vascular procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are prepared and readily available. Maintains a sterile field and adheres to surgical protocols.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Prepare the operating room for cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures, including setup of specialty equipment and instruments.
    • Assist surgeons and surgical team members by anticipating needs and providing instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.
    • Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic technique throughout the surgical procedure.
    • Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment used in CVOR procedures.
    • Manage and prepare surgical case carts per procedure requirements.
    • Respond effectively to emergencies and assist in managing the crash cart.
    • Perform post-operative room setup and cleanup.
    • Provide technical support for robotic surgical systems when applicable.
    • Assist with floating to other surgical specialties as needed.

    Schedule / Shift
    • 3 or 4 x 12 Hour Shifts per week
    • Day/Evening Shifts: 0630-1830 / 1100-2330

    On Call / Weekend Requirement
    • Scheduled for 6 calls per 6-week schedule.
    • Required to work 1 weekend shift and/or 1 holiday per 6-week schedule.

    Float Requirement
    • May float to general surgery cases if no cardiac or vascular cases are scheduled.

    Required Qualifications
    • Successful completion of at least one prior travel assignment.
    • Flu vaccination required.

    Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)

    Experience
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in:
    • Aseptic Technique
    • Case Cart preparation and management
    • Cardiac surgical cases
    • Vascular surgical cases
    • Crash Cart management
    • General surgery assisting

    Skills
    • Proficient in sterile technique and maintaining a sterile field.
    • Experience with XI Robotics systems.
    • Ability to operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment.
    • Strong understanding of cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team.
    • Understanding of surgical case cart setup and management.
    • Competency in crash cart management and emergency response.
