  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse in the Infusion department is responsible for administering intravenous therapies, including chemotherapy, antibiotics, hydration, and blood products, to patients in an outpatient or inpatient setting. This role requires careful monitoring of patients during infusion, managing side effects, and providing patient education to ensure safe and effective treatment.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Prepare and administer intravenous medications and treatments according to physician orders and protocol.
    2. Monitor patients during infusion for adverse reactions and intervene as necessary.
    3. Assess patient condition before, during, and after infusion therapy.
    4. Educate patients and families about infusion procedures, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
    5. Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration and patient responses in the EMR.
    6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
    7. Adhere to infection control standards and safety protocols specific to infusion therapy.
    8. Manage infusion equipment and supplies, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Current RN license.
    2. Experience in infusion nursing or oncology preferred.
    3. Strong assessment and patient monitoring skills.
    4. Excellent communication and patient education skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Certification in infusion therapy (e.g., Certified Registered Nurse Infusion, CRNI) is a plus.

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
    2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
