  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Companion/Sitter to provide non-clinical support and supervision to patients in a hospital or care facility setting. The Companion/Sitter ensures patient safety, comfort, and emotional well-being by offering companionship, observation, and assistance with basic needs under the supervision of nursing staff.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide continuous observation and support for assigned patients to ensure safety and comfort.
    2. Offer companionship and engage patients in appropriate conversation or activities to reduce anxiety and loneliness.
    3. Assist patients with non-medical needs such as positioning, comfort measures, and communication with staff.
    4. Immediately report any changes in the patient’s condition, safety concerns, or unusual behavior to the nursing team.
    5. Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards.
    6. Follow established hospital policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
    7. Work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
    8. Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and departmental needs.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
    2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare or patient care setting.
    3. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

    Skills:
    1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    2. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate empathy.
    3. Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
    4. Ability to remain calm and professional in all patient care situations.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Prior experience working as a patient sitter, nursing assistant, or in a direct patient care role.
    2. Familiarity with hospital safety procedures and patient monitoring protocols.

    Certifications
    • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS)
