POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for restoring and maximizing patient function, facilitating activities of daily living after disabilities, and preventing further restrictions of function. This role helps clients reach their maximum performance level within the limits of their capabilities. The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients using medically prescribed occupational therapy programs and performs duties consistent with skills and training in alignment with the mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Implement medically prescribed occupational therapy programs to restore and enhance function.
- Facilitate activities of daily living to promote independence and prevent further functional decline.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Document patient evaluations, treatments, and progress in compliance with organizational standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and strategies for daily living.
- Perform other duties as assigned consistent with skills and training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Occupational Therapist license in [state/region].
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
