Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of medical conditions, while also monitoring and interpreting telemetry readings. This position requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills to coordinate care effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry readings, recognizing and responding to abnormalities.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care.
- Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in code situations as needed.
- Support patient recovery and mobility by assisting with daily activities and rehabilitation exercises.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Medical-Surgical or Telemetry unit.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in the use of telemetry monitoring equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- 2+ years of experience in a Med-Surg/Telemetry setting.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
