Job Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Surgical Specialty to provide high-quality patient care in a hospital setting. Under general supervision, the RN will care for patients with a wide range of health conditions, from simple to complex, while supporting physicians and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; record changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures or treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient conditions, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent and compassionate patient care.
- Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Educate patients and families on hospital procedures.
- Refer patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.
- Experience in surgical specialty or hospital-based nursing.
Certifications (if any)
- Current RN License (mandatory).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (mandatory).
