  • Job Summary  
    We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support physicians and mid-level providers during prenatal visits, gynecological exams, and minor office procedures. The ideal candidate will provide both clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care and smooth office operations.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Patient Intake: Greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and collect detailed medical histories, including menstrual cycles and pregnancy history.
    2. Vitals & Measurements: Record height, weight, blood pressure, and temperature. In obstetric care, measure fetal heart rates using a Doppler device.
    3. Procedure Assistance: Prepare sterile trays and assist providers with Pap smears, pelvic exams, colposcopies, IUD insertions/removals, and biopsies.
    4. Lab Work & Testing: Collect and process urine and blood samples. Perform in-office tests such as pregnancy tests, glucose monitoring, and STI screenings.
    5. Patient Education: Provide instructions on prenatal vitamins, contraception methods, and postpartum recovery as directed by the physician.

    Administrative Responsibilities:
    1. Manage scheduling for specialized appointments (prenatal check-ups, ultrasounds, post-operative follow-ups).
    2. Update patient charts, document visit findings, and manage medication renewal requests in the EHR system.
    3. Process insurance claims, obtain prior authorizations, and coordinate referrals to specialists or hospitals.
    4. Maintain inventory of specialized supplies such as speculums, sterile gloves, and obstetric gels.
    5. EPIC experience Required

    Required Qualifications
    1. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
    2. Strong knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology.
    3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    4. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Prior experience in obstetrics/gynecology or women’s health.
    2. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
