Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse – Psychiatric to provide high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health needs. This role involves assessing patient conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery and well-being in a psychiatric care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with psychiatric nursing standards and physician orders.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Support patients in managing psychiatric symptoms and promote therapeutic coping strategies.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Document patient care, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and community resources.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Relevant experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Experience in inpatient psychiatric units, outpatient mental health clinics, or crisis intervention settings.
- Training in therapeutic techniques such as de-escalation or trauma-informed care.
- Familiarity with EMR systems.
Certifications (if any)
- Active RN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced certifications in psychiatric nursing (e.g., PMHN-BC) are a plus.
