Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our physical therapy team in delivering effective rehabilitation services. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, assist patients with therapeutic exercises, and monitor progress to help restore mobility and improve quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and modalities to improve strength, flexibility, and functional mobility.
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatment, reporting any changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist.
- Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas.
- Educate patients and families on exercise routines, safety precautions, and injury prevention.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to infection control practices and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current and unrestricted state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Basic knowledge of physical therapy techniques and rehabilitation principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and support patients throughout their rehabilitation process.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Experience working in outpatient, inpatient, or home health settings.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Certifications (if any)
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Any specialty certifications related to physical therapy or patient care (optional).
