Job Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive primary and family care services to patients of all ages in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role is responsible for patient assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient education. The PA works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and supporting daily clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary and family care services to patients across all age groups.
- Conduct patient assessments, evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
- Manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, preventive care visits, wellness exams, and health screenings.
- Prescribe medications and coordinate individualized care plans with healthcare team members.
- Perform routine physical examinations and health evaluations.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, preventive care, medications, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR/EHR systems.
- Support daily clinic operations, including:
- Patient follow-up
- Inventory management
- Insurance verification
- Maintaining clinic cleanliness and organization
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Active Texas Physician Assistant license in good standing.
- NCCPA Board Certification required.
- Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in:
- Primary Care
- Family Practice
- Internal Medicine
- Urgent Care
- (preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient clinical environment.
