Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care and support under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. This role involves administering medications, performing immunizations, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with patient communication. The LPN ensures safe, efficient, and compassionate care while supporting the overall workflow of the clinical unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform floor-based clinical duties including immunizations, medication administration, and blood pressure checks.
- Provide telephone-based patient support, including communicating test results and handling call-backs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
- Respond to patient needs promptly and professionally, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
- Current LPN license.
- Strong clinical skills in medication administration, immunizations, and vital sign monitoring.
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience in a hospital or outpatient clinic setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to multitask and manage patient flow efficiently.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
