  • Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist Manager to lead our Inpatient Pharmacy operations. The Pharmacist Manager will ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients, oversee pharmacy staff, and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations. This role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and clinical expertise, especially during our transition from Meditech to Epic EMR.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication use in accordance with established policies and protocols.
    2. Develop, implement, and enforce pharmacy policies and procedures.
    3. Maintain and manage the medical staff-approved formulary.
    4. Supervise medication storage, preparation, and distribution across the facility.
    5. Ensure integrity and accountability of medication supply, including controlled substances.
    6. Establish procurement specifications for medications, chemicals, and biologicals.
    7. Assume duties of Staff Pharmacist when needed.
    8. Supervise and evaluate pharmacy personnel, including job descriptions, performance standards, and counseling.
    9. Prepare work schedules, monitor workload statistics, and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
    10. Provide educational support and training for pharmacy staff.
    11. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, federal, state, and local regulations.
    12. Integrate pharmacy services into the organization’s primary functions and strategic plan.
    13. Develop and maintain quality improvement programs for pharmacy services.
    14. Participate in organizational committees and management meetings.

    Required Qualifications
    1. MUST HAVE Epic EMR experience.
    2. Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy.
    3. PharmD degree required.
    4. Current State Pharmacy license in good standing.
    5. Demonstrated leadership in pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy services.
    6. Strong regulatory knowledge, clinical judgment, communication, and teaching skills.
    7. BLS certification (American Heart Association).
    8. ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
    9. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Meditech training or experience (helpful during EMR conversion).

    3. ACLS (American Heart Association).
