  • Job Summary
    The Psychiatric Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in a behavioral health setting, supporting individuals with mental health conditions. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering treatments, monitoring progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to patients in inpatient or outpatient settings
    2. Assess patient conditions, including mental health status, risk factors, and treatment needs
    3. Administer medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
    4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
    5. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients in distress
    6. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies
    7. Document patient care accurately in medical records
    8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, infection control, and nursing standards
    9. Support therapeutic environment by promoting patient dignity and respect

    Required Qualifications
    1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
    2. Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
    3. Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
    4. Ability to manage crisis situations and provide de-escalation support
    5. Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment protocols

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    2. Prior experience in inpatient psychiatric units or community mental health settings
    3. Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMHN)

    Certifications
    1. RN license (required)
    2. PMHN certification (preferred)
