Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The COTA will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide therapeutic care, assist patients in developing or regaining daily living and work skills, and support individualized treatment plans that promote independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists to help patients improve functional abilities.
- Guide patients through therapeutic activities and exercises designed to enhance mobility, coordination, and daily living skills.
- Monitor patient progress and report observations to supervising occupational therapists.
- Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and home exercise programs.
- Assist with the use of therapeutic tools and ensure proper patient positioning and safety.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
- Current COTA license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and rehabilitation practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience in hospital, outpatient, or rehabilitation settings.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience working with patients across diverse age groups and conditions.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional specialty certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid) preferred.
