  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant – Per Diem to provide both clinical and administrative support in a healthcare setting. The role involves assisting practitioners with patient care, performing intake procedures, administering medications and immunizations, and ensuring exam rooms are prepared and compliant with safety standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
    2. Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and healthcare team members.
    3. Complete patient intake, including vital signs, height, weight, and hearing/vision screenings.
    4. Identify care gaps and schedule appropriate visits or procedures.
    5. Prepare consent, school, and work forms for provider review and signature.
    6. Ensure exam rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with essential supplies and equipment.
    7. Perform point-of-care testing.
    8. Administer immunizations and medications within scope of practice, providing patients with the most recent Vaccine Information Statement (VIS).
    9. Assist practitioners during examinations and minor procedures, including patient positioning, draping, and sterile instrument handling.
    10. Document patient care and education in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    11. Actively participate in Unit Based Team (UBT) meetings, staff meetings, department-specific education, and quality improvement initiatives.
    12. Perform other in-scope duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active Medical Assistant (MA) certification.
    2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    3. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as patient intake, point-of-care testing, and immunization administration.
    4. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
    5. Knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
    6. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.


    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Prior experience in outpatient or multi-specialty clinical settings.
    2. Experience assisting with minor procedures and patient education.
    3. Familiarity with scheduling systems and care gap management.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Active Medical Assistant (MA) certification required.
    2. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
