  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery to provide exceptional care in a surgical setting. The RN will be responsible for patient preparation before surgery, ensuring all safety protocols are followed, and supporting patients and their families with clear communication and education. This role is critical to maintaining a safe and effective surgical environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Review patients’ medical histories, allergies, laboratory results, and surgical consent forms for completeness and accuracy
    2. Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including vital signs and physical evaluations
    3. Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, anesthesia, and post-operative care expectations
    4. Prepare the operating room with all necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
    5. Ensure accurate patient identification and compliance with all surgical safety checklists
    6. Initiate IV lines and administer pre-operative medications as required
    7. Monitor and assess patient readiness for surgery
    Required Qualifications
    1. Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
    2. Experience in surgical or perioperative nursing
    3. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
    4. Excellent communication and patient education abilities
    5. Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Prior experience in operating room (OR) nursing or pre-operative care
    2. Familiarity with surgical safety protocols and checklists

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
    2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
