  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular provides direct nursing care to patients in both Med/Surg and Stepdown settings within a 24-bed mixed cardiovascular unit. This role requires expertise in cardiac stabilization, rhythm monitoring, and management of specialized interventions such as chest tubes and cardiac drips. The nurse collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and supports patients through cardiac rehab and pre/post-procedure recovery.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Deliver direct nursing care to cardiovascular patients in Med/Surg and Stepdown settings.
    2. Monitor and assess cardiac patients, including rhythm and rate interpretation.
    3. Manage chest tubes, IV drips, cardiac stabilization interventions, and cardiac medications.
    4. Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products safely.
    5. Collaborate with cardiac rehab, patient education, and discharge planning teams.
    6. ocument patient responses, physician orders, and treatment plans accurately.
    7. Assist physicians with examinations and procedures as needed.
    8. Educate patients and families on cardiac care and recovery plans.
    9. Coordinate care with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
    10. Maintain high-quality standards of patient care in a fast-paced cardiovascular unit.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Minimum of 1 year of RN experience.
    2. Cardiac experience required.
    3. Stepdown/PCU experience required.
    4. Experience with chest tubes, cardiac drips, rhythm monitoring, and cardiac stabilization.
    5. Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
    6. Active Oklahoma RN License or Multistate Compact License (eNLC).
    7. BLS certification – American Heart Association.
    8. ACLS certification – American Heart Association.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Familiarity with cardiac rehab and pre/post cardiac procedures.

    Certifications
    1. BLS – American Heart Association (required).
    2. ACLS – American Heart Association (required).
    3. Additional cardiac or critical care certifications are a plus.
