Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Technologist to join our surgical services team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting surgeons and nurses during operative procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, handling surgical instruments, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical tools and equipment.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Monitor and manage surgical supplies, ensuring availability and accuracy.
- Handle specimens according to established protocols.
- Support patient safety by verifying equipment functionality and assisting with positioning.
- Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records as required.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience working in an operating room or surgical environment.
- Experience with a variety of surgical specialties.
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology or related field.
Certifications (if any)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS) are a plus.
