JOB SUMMARY
The Ultrasound Technician (Allied) performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to physician's orders, utilizing specialized equipment to produce images of the body. This role is crucial in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound equipment to create images of patient anatomy.
- Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, cardiac, and vascular studies.
- Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and address any concerns.
- Position patients and equipment to obtain optimal imaging views.
- Record and document patient information and examination results accurately.
- Adhere to established safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment and work areas.

Schedule / Shift
Shift details are typically determined by facility needs and may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Technician program.
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent recognized credential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician.

Skills
- Proficiency in operating various ultrasound machines and transducers.
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to perform a range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

EMR / Systems
Experience with GE Healthcare systems, Philips Ultrasound, or similar EMR/PACS systems is beneficial.

Unit / Specialty
General Diagnostic Ultrasound departments.
