Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, monitor complex health conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients requiring intermediate levels of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in accordance with established nursing standards and protocols.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, administer medications, and manage complex medical equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery processes, and ongoing health management.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and provide appropriate interventions.
- Support a safe and healing environment by adhering to infection control and safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience in Progressive Care Unit, ICU, or step-down unit.
- Advanced training in cardiac monitoring or critical care nursing.
- BSN degree strongly preferred.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Specialty certification in Progressive Care Nursing (PCCN) is a plus.
