Job Description:

  • Position Summary:
    We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to provide high-quality venipuncture and extended scope services for a diverse patient population ranging from adults to geriatrics. This role requires a dependable and compassionate individual who can perform both standard and expanded clinical tasks in a busy outpatient or clinical setting.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Perform venipuncture procedures efficiently and accurately
    2. Provide specimen collection for both blood and non-blood samples
    3. Administer point-of-care testing (POCT) as needed
    4. Assist with EKGs/ECGs, vital signs, ear lavages, PPD tests, swabs, and vaccines
    5. Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and handling of all specimens
    6. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with clinical standards
    7. Deliver excellent patient care and maintain patient confidentiality
    8. Follow all safety and infection control protocols

    Requirements:
    1. Minimum of 6 months of hands-on venipuncture experience (excluding externship or school training)
    2. Strong understanding of clinical procedures and best practices in specimen handling
    3. Pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
    4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
    5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    6. Reliable and professional demeanor

    Additional Information:
    1. Travel/local experience required – familiarity with the local area is a plus
    2. Parking not included – options available via nearby street parking or paid garages
    3. Two metro/train stops (Rosslyn & Courthouse on the Blue/Orange/Silver lines) are within a 5-minute walk
