  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) to provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. The OR Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, maintaining a sterile environment, assisting the surgical team, and delivering high-quality care before, during, and after surgery.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the perioperative process.
    2. Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures.
    3. Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure according to established protocols.
    4. Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection prevention standards.
    5. Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists during procedures.
    6. Monitor patients' condition before, during, and immediately after surgery.
    7. Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
    8. Ensure proper handling, counting, and documentation of surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies.
    9. Document patient care, procedures, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    10. Advocate for patient safety and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
    11. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.
    12. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    2. Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
    3. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
    4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
    6. Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control, and surgical safety standards.
    7. Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
    8. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Previous Operating Room, Perioperative, Surgical Services, or Critical Care nursing experience.
    3. Experience in circulating and/or scrub nursing roles.
    4. Familiarity with a variety of surgical specialties, including orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurological, general, and outpatient procedures.
    5. Knowledge of perioperative standards and surgical equipment.
    6. Experience with robotic-assisted surgical procedures.

    Certifications
    1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
    3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (preferred).
    4. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Certification (preferred).
    5. Moderate Sedation Certification (preferred, if applicable).
