  • Job Summary
    Under the direction of a Cardiologist, the Cardiac Catheterization Technologist performs hemodynamic monitoring, imaging, and ambulatory monitoring operations in the Cardiology department. This role requires independent performance of procedures without constant supervision, proficiency in telemetry, and experience with advanced cardiac support devices.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform cardiac catheterization duties under the Chief Radiologic Technologist
    2. Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and record patient data
    3. Assist with radiologic operations in the Cath Lab
    4. Perform quality control using optimum diagnostic imaging standards
    5. Troubleshoot equipment and request service as needed
    6. Complete patient billing for Cath Lab procedures
    7. Maintain film processor calibration with sensitometric/densitometric equipment
    8. Prepare cardiology patients for invasive procedures
    9. Take emergency calls for evening/weekend Cath Lab emergencies
    10. Ensure confidentiality of hospital, staff, and patient data
    11. Respect patient dignity and cultural diversity in all interactions

    Required Qualifications
    1. 2–3 years Cath Lab experience with Impella, telemetry, and IABP
    2. Ability to independently read telemetry strips and pass tele exam (85% or better on day 1)
    3. MA RT(R) License (required)
    4. ACLS certification (required)
    5. BLS certification (required)

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR)
    2. RCIS certification (preferred)
    3. Continuing education credits to maintain proficiency
