JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including those requiring cardiac monitoring. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients with acute medical conditions and those on telemetry.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to telemetry alerts appropriately.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units.
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and interpretation of telemetry data.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience with telemetry monitoring systems and cardiac care protocols.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
