Job Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for delivering safe and effective pharmaceutical care, with a focus on oncology patients. This role involves preparing and handling chemotherapy medications, monitoring patient outcomes, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and handle chemotherapy medications in compliance with safety and quality standards
- Monitor chemotherapy patients to assess treatment effectiveness and manage side effects
- Provide direct patient care in oncology settings, ensuring accurate medication management
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals under Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) protocols
- Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to regulatory and institutional guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist License in the state.
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience within the last 3 years in chemotherapy preparation and patient monitoring
- Completion of a pharmacy practice residency or equivalent experience in direct patient care oncology
- Experience managing patients under CDTM protocols
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior oncology-focused clinical experience beyond residency
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary healthcare environments
Certifications (if any)
- Board Certification in Pharmacy (e.g., BCOP or equivalent)
