This role manages clinic workflows, scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verification to ensure efficient operations across high-traffic community health clinics
Key Responsibilities
Patient Registration: Greet patients, register them for appointments, and accurately update demographic and insurance information in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system (often EPIC).
Insurance Verification: Navigate health plan portals to verify eligibility and assist patients with qualifying for county programs and Sliding Fee Programs.
Billing & Payments: Calculate visit charges, collect co-pays and payments, and reconcile daily receipts according to clinic protocols.
Communication & Support: Manage busy multi-line phone systems, handle patient inquiries, and resolve EHR pool messages (e.g., patient requests/scheduling) within 24–48 hours.
Operational Logistics: Assist with appointment scheduling and support various clinic service needs, including mobile clinic operations, outreach sites, or after-hours shifts if required
Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Typically requires 1–2 years of experience working in a community-based health care or medical front office setting.
Proficiency with computers and familiarity with EHR/medical information systems.
Strong customer service, the ability to utilize de-escalation techniques, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
