  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures. This role ensures patient safety, supports physicians and technologists during procedures, and delivers high-quality care throughout the peri-procedural process.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide patient care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
    2. Assist physicians and technologists with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
    3. Monitor patients including vital signs, sedation levels, and recovery status.
    4. Administer medications such as sedation and contrast agents per physician orders.
    5. Educate patients and families on procedure expectations, risks, and post-care instructions.
    6. Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control standards.
    7. Document care accurately in electronic medical records.
    8. Respond to emergencies and provide advanced life support as needed.
    9. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
    3. Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in critical care, emergency, or perioperative settings.
    4. Strong knowledge of patient monitoring, sedation, and recovery protocols.
    5. Excellent communication and patient education skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Prior experience in interventional radiology or procedural nursing.
    2. Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
    3. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

    Certifications
    1. RN license (required).
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
    3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
