Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist for a contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have recent phlebotomy experience, expertise in specimen collection across all age groups, and a strong commitment to patient care and safety. This role requires proficiency in patient identification, specimen handling, and adherence to laboratory procedures.
M-F 9-5:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection on patients ranging from infants to geriatrics.
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate patient information prior to specimen collection.
- Label specimens accurately and in accordance with established protocols.
- Prepare and package specimens for transport and send-out testing.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and infection control standards.
- Provide professional and compassionate patient interactions throughout the collection process.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of recent phlebotomy experience.
- Experience performing blood draws on infant patients is mandatory.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow laboratory procedures.
- Excellent communication and patient service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory, hospital, or outpatient healthcare setting.
Certifications
- Phlebotomy Certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
