JOB SUMMARY
The Polysomnographer is responsible for conducting sleep studies to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. This role involves patient preparation, conducting sleep tests, and data collection.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare patients for polysomnography and other sleep-related studies.
• Apply sensors and electrodes to patients according to established protocols.
• Monitor patient physiological signals during sleep studies, including EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory effort, airflow, and oxygen saturation.
• Identify and address any artifacts or technical issues during data acquisition.
• Score sleep stage, respiratory events, and other relevant physiological data.
• Troubleshoot equipment and sensors to ensure accurate data collection.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout the study.
• Educate patients on the procedure and answer any questions they may have.
• Document all relevant patient information, study details, and observations.

Schedule / Shift
• Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited polysomnography program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in patient care and monitoring.
• Familiarity with sleep study protocols and procedures.

Certifications
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent is preferred.

Experience
• Previous experience as a Polysomnographer is required.
