  • JOB SUMMARY
    The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions in an acute care setting. This role is essential in supporting recovery, managing chronic illnesses, and preparing patients for discharge or further treatment. The RN will primarily work on the 4 South Cardiac unit and occasionally float between various Med-Surg units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Respiratory, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment
    • Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments
    • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans
    • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge instructions
    • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
    • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
    • Float between designated Med-Surg units as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in the State
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    • Minimum 3 years of current/recent acute care Med-Surg experience
    • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
    • Must be Epic EMR proficient (refresher classes or 1:1 support not available)
    • Must pass telemetry competency test on day one
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
    • Experience in cardiac telemetry or stepdown units
    • National certification in medical-surgical nursing (e.g., CMSRN)
    Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS
