JOB TITLE: XRay/CT Technician

JOB SUMMARY
The XRay/CT Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray and CT equipment to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This role involves operating radiologic equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring the production of high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform X-ray and CT examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment, including X-ray and CT scanners.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during examinations.
- Prepare contrast media and administer it as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to radiation protection and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Schedule / Shift
Variable shifts, including overnights.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Possess a valid state license as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must have received the flu vaccine.
- Must have reliable personal transportation.

Certifications
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (R) is required.
- ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) is required.
- BLS Certification

Experience
- Experience performing both X-ray and CT examinations.

Skills
- Proficiency in operating X-ray and CT imaging equipment.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Skill in patient positioning and immobilization techniques.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

EMR / Systems
- Experience with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- Familiarity with radiology information systems (RIS).
