Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in psychiatric care to provide compassionate and professional nursing services to adult patients aged 18 and older. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring safety, and supporting treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and mental health professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in psychiatric settings, including monitoring, assessment, and treatment support.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement care plans.
- Support patients in crisis situations using de-escalation techniques.
- Document patient care activities in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact license accepted).
- Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric care practices and patient safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in adult psychiatric clinics or inpatient psychiatric units.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA) – required.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification – required.
