Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Inpatient provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients admitted to the inpatient unit. This role ensures safe, effective, and compassionate care while collaborating with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Uphold infection control, patient safety, and quality standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and unit-based initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain BSN within a specified timeframe.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an inpatient or acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience in adult inpatient or medical-surgical nursing.
- Advanced training or certification in critical care or specialty areas.
- BSN degree preferred.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
