Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant/Correctional Health Technician (MA/CHT) to support healthcare services by delivering quality patient care within the defined scope of practice. This role operates under the supervision of medical or nursing personnel and is responsible for patient preparation, clinical procedures, documentation, and administrative support in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of practice under supervision
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment
- Record patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints
- Perform clinical procedures, tests, and examinations as required
- Administer injections, immunizations, and TB skin tests per established protocols
- Perform venipuncture and laboratory testing
- Maintain exam and procedure room supplies
- Accurately document patient information in electronic health records or other systems
- Transcribe provider orders and schedule follow-up appointments
- Perform administrative tasks including filing, scanning, copying, scheduling, and document preparation
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools to create documents, spreadsheets, emails, and manage calendars
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant accredited healthcare training program
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience in a similar role
- Current fit testing certification for N95 particulate respirators
- Current First Aid certification
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
