  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist I to join our healthcare team. 
    The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in specimen collection, handling, and processing, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and patient care. 
    This role involves working with pediatric and geriatric patients and requires attention to detail and adherence to established procedures.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform blood draws and other specimen collections (e.g., urine, fecal) following established procedures.
    • Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in using straight and butterfly needles.
    • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
    • Package and store specimens according to required temperature and protocol to maintain integrity.
    • Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures.
    • Update patient information accurately in the system.
    • Ensure 100% accuracy in checking test requisitions or computer labels against physician scripts.

    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist, including work with pediatric and geriatric patients.
    • Valid Phlebotomist license in the state.
    • Proficient in using straight and butterfly needles and handling color-coded tubes.
    • At least 2 years of experience with blood draws and venipunctures.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience working in clinical or hospital settings.
    • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

    Certifications
    • Phlebotomist License – Required in the state of Washington.
