collapsed JOB SUMMARY Provides skilled nursing care to patients in the Operating Room environment, assisting surgeons and support staff during surgical procedures. Ensures patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare the operating room for patient procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functional. - Perform surgical scrubbing duties, maintaining a sterile field throughout the procedure. - Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies in a timely manner. - Monitor the patient's condition during surgery, reporting any changes to the surgeon. - Assist with patient positioning, draping, and skin preparation. - Ensure proper handling and disposal of surgical specimens. - Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of surgical procedures. - Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and coordination. - Adhere to infection control policies and procedures. - Participate in post-operative care as directed.
Schedule / Shift - 12-hour shifts - 40-hour work week - Day shift starts at 7:00 AM - Evening shift starts at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM - Every third weekend rotation as needed - Every other holiday rotation - On-call rotation of 1x per schedule
Required Qualifications - Must have 3+ years of inpatient surgery experience. - Level 1 trauma experience is required. - Must possess trauma experience. - Must have a positive attitude, be flexible, and possess excellent communication skills. - Must be competent in at least 5 of the listed surgical services.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with robotic procedures. - Experience in pediatric surgery.
Certifications - NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) - required - BLS (Basic Life Support) - required
Experience - 3+ years of inpatient surgery - Level 1 trauma experience
