JOB SUMMARY
Provides skilled nursing care to patients in the Operating Room environment, assisting surgeons and support staff during surgical procedures. Ensures patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for patient procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functional.
- Perform surgical scrubbing duties, maintaining a sterile field throughout the procedure.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies in a timely manner.
- Monitor the patient's condition during surgery, reporting any changes to the surgeon.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and skin preparation.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of surgical specimens.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
- Participate in post-operative care as directed.

Schedule / Shift
- 12-hour shifts
- 40-hour work week
- Day shift starts at 7:00 AM
- Evening shift starts at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM
- Every third weekend rotation as needed
- Every other holiday rotation
- On-call rotation of 1x per schedule

Required Qualifications
- Must have 3+ years of inpatient surgery experience.
- Level 1 trauma experience is required.
- Must possess trauma experience.
- Must have a positive attitude, be flexible, and possess excellent communication skills.
- Must be competent in at least 5 of the listed surgical services.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotic procedures.
- Experience in pediatric surgery.

Certifications
- NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) - required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - required

- May float to Moakley OR if needed.
- May float to other OR campuses if needed.
