  • Job Summary  
    The Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. This role involves administering therapies, monitoring patient progress, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the oncology care team to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including administering chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
    2. Monitor patient responses to treatment and promptly report adverse reactions or changes in condition.
    3. Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies.
    4. Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
    6. Support patients emotionally and psychologically throughout their cancer journey.
    7. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
    8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to maintain oncology nursing expertise.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience.
    2. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    3. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
    4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    5. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Prior experience in oncology nursing or infusion therapy.
    2. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
    3. Advanced training in patient education and counseling.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
