  • JOB SUMMARY
    Mammography Technologists are responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of breast conditions. This role involves operating mammography equipment, performing screenings and diagnostic exams, and assisting with interventional procedures.

    Key Responsibilities
    - Perform outpatient screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.
    - Conduct bone density scans.
    - Assist with stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies.
    - Facilitate magseed and wire localization procedures.
    - Manage and document post-clip placements.

    Schedule / Shift
    - Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5x8 hour shifts.
    - Operational Hours: Monday and Friday 08:00-16:30, Tuesday-Thursday 09:00-17:30.
    - Weekend Rotation: Rotating Saturdays, typically every 6th.
    - Block Schedule: Open to accommodating Monday-Friday block schedules.

    Required Qualifications
    - Valid Illinois license (IEMA).
    - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    - ARRT (Mammography) certification.

    Preferred Qualifications
    - Registered Breast Ultrasound or Registered Breast Sonographer.
    - Experience with DEXA scans is a plus.

    Experience
    - Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience required.
    - First-time mammography technologists seeking employment will not be accepted.

    Skills
    - Demonstrated proficiency in performing screening and diagnostic mammograms.
    - Competent in bone density testing.
    - Experience with stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies is beneficial but not required for this role (will not be required to learn BXs or localization procedures).
    - Comfort and ability to handle post-clip placement examinations is essential.

    EMR / Systems
    - Meditech experience is highly preferred, with orientation available for Meditech training.

    Patient Population
    - Adult patients.

    Floating / On-Call
    - This position does not require floating to other units.
    - This position is not on-call.
