JOB SUMMARY This position provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring patient status. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality patient care within the medical-surgical unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. • Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition, reporting any changes to the Registered Nurse. • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record. • Educate patients and families on health conditions and treatment plans. • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. • Maintain a safe and clean patient environment.
EXPERIENCE • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an LPN is generally preferred. • Experience in a medical-surgical setting is required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Valid state-issued Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

PATIENT POPULATION • Adult and geriatric patients.
FLOATING / ON-CALL • Willingness to float to similar units as needed may be required.
