Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team on a 13-week contract in the Alcohol and Addiction department. This position involves 12-hour shifts from 1900 to 0700, with paid lunch breaks and 36 hours of work per week. The role offers every other weekend off and is located near the beautiful Pacific Northwest beaches and Olympic Forest. Ideal candidates will have expertise in addiction medicine, along with solid medical/surgical nursing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients dealing with alcohol and addiction issues.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients’ physical and emotional status, responding to changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care.
- Conduct assessments, including the use of ASAM criteria, to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Serve in a charge nurse role when necessary, offering leadership and guidance to other nursing staff.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or a Multi-state license.
- Verification of Nursys demographics for Multi-state license holders.
- Verification of Suicide Prevention certification.
- Minimum of one year of medical/surgical nursing experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience in chemical dependency and addiction care.
- Experience as a charge nurse with strong leadership abilities.
- Proficient knowledge of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in addiction medicine or behavioral health settings.
- Additional certifications or specialized training in addiction or mental health nursing.
Certifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Suicide Prevention certification (for Multi-state license holders)
