Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room provides high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic emergency department. This role involves assisting with overflow and bed expansion while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address urgent medical needs, ensuring optimal care for patients in critical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Delivery:
 - Provide exceptional care to patients in the emergency department, including managing overflow and supporting bed expansion in hallways as needed.
 - Administer treatments, medications, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and patient needs.
 - Collaboration & Communication:
 - Work closely with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, including physicians, technicians, and other nursing staff.
 - Ensure effective communication with patients and their families, providing updates on care and treatment plans.
 - Safety & Efficiency:
 - Maintain a safe and efficient environment while adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
 - Ensure patient safety through adherence to infection control protocols and accurate documentation of patient care.
 
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department (ED).
 - Availability to work every other weekend (EOW) and one winter holiday.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) will be considered.
 - Strong adaptability and ability to perform under pressure in a high-acuity setting.
 
Certifications:
- Required: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
 - Preferred: Advanced certifications in emergency care (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be advantageous.
 
Education and Experience:
- Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
 - Preferred: BSN and experience in an Emergency Room or high-acuity setting.
