Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical unit. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional clinical judgment, compassion, and efficiency in delivering patient-centered care. This role requires a strong understanding of medical-surgical procedures, patient safety, and the ability to respond effectively in urgent situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to acutely ill, injured, or recovering patients.
- Perform regular patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and change dressings per protocols.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Coordinate individualized care plans and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and safety standards.
- Function independently under supervision while effectively communicating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and unit-based goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure effective patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in high-stress environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience within the past 2 years.
- Advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS) preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred.
