JOB SUMMARY Provide diagnostic imaging services using specialized equipment in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Perform invasive radiological procedures, including scrubbing and monitoring, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities • Perform scrubbing and monitoring duties during cardiac catheterization procedures. • Assist with a variety of invasive radiological procedures including angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), and complex cases such as chronic total occlusions (CTO), left main interventions, patent foramen ovale (PFO) closures, device implants, pulmonary embolism (PE) thrombectomy, interventional radiology (IR) cases, and peripheral interventions. • Provide coverage for STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) activations. • Operate and assist with the use of medical devices such as Impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP). • Perform monitoring (recording) functions using MacLab system. • Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures. • Utilize knowledge of various medical products and ensure proper restocking of procedure rooms. • Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
Schedule / Shift • Days: 4 x 10-hour shifts per week. • Shift hours: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
On Call • On-call required for 9-10 shifts per month. • Includes 1 weekend of call per month.
Required Qualifications • ARRT certification is required. • Current BLS certification. • Current ACLS certification.
Experience • Previous experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab is mandatory. • Experience scrubbing invasive radiological procedures is required. • STEMI coverage experience is required. • Experience with Impella and IABP is expected. • Experience monitoring (recording) on MacLab is expected. • Familiarity with restocking procedure rooms is expected. • Structural Heart experience is preferred.
Skills • Proficiency in maintaining sterile technique. • Ability to perform comprehensive monitoring and recording functions. • Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
