  • Job Summary
    The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room, assisting surgeons and healthcare professionals in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative procedures. This role requires technical expertise, sterile technique proficiency, and a commitment to patient safety to support surgical efficiency and success.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Prepare operating rooms, ensuring sterile environments and necessary equipment availability.
    • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating surgical needs.
    • Maintain strict sterile technique, following protocols for infection control and patient safety.
    • Set up, test, and ensure the functionality of surgical equipment and instruments.
    • Monitor and manage surgical supplies, replenishing materials as needed.
    • Handle specimen collection and ensure proper transport for laboratory analysis.
    • Support postoperative cleaning and sterilization of equipment and operating rooms.
    • Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons to ensure smooth procedures.
    • Stay informed on new surgical techniques and advancements in technology.
    Required Qualifications
    • Associate degree in Surgical Technology or completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
    • Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical procedures, and medical instruments.
    • Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent teamwork skills.
    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (preferred).
    • Experience assisting in various surgical specialties.
